I've been driving my kids crazy. This morning, as my son stumbled down the stairs trying to wake up, I broke into song... Good morning starshine The earth says hello You twinkle above us We twinkle below
Good morning starshine You lead us along My love and me as we sing Our early morning singing song
Gliddy glub gloopy Nibby nabby noopy La la la lo lo Sabba sibby sabba Nooby abba nabba Le le lo lo Tooby ooby walla Nooby abba naba Early morning singing song Poor guy. Not that it wasn't great to hear the song at 6 o'clock. It's just that I don't have a Broadway voice. I also think that sophomores in high school just can't appreciate this awesome music. My daughter, a senior, thought I was being somewhat strange. However, she enjoys Broadway a bit more than my son. Thus, it wasn't as much torture. So where am I going with this? Pioneer Drama Service has its own 60s musical. The show, GROOVY, was written by Tim Kelly and the music, of course, was written by Bill Francoeur. Many people ask me about Bill Francoeur. Well, I saw him yesterday. He walked into the office and handed over the CD for his latest show. (It will be released in a month or so.) When he was composing the music, he did his research. He would often tell me how he was doing a song that had a 60s "feel." He would name specific groups and styles. I've pulled together two videos that are on YouTube. The first is the song 'Music, Beads and Flowers" by Bill Francoeur that is in our musical GROOVY. The other is "Good Morning, Starshine."
