Excited to be head of Drama Club at Newton Middle School!

It's time to update everything! Stage lighting for a high school stage? Theatre makeup for a high school? What will I need.

I just volunteered at Newton Middle School in Littleton, Colorado to be the sponsor/director of their drama club. Unfortunately, lack of funding in our schools is taking important classes such as drama out of the picture.

So, here I am. It's time to start choosing plays. I have decided to do one act plays ideal for middle school students. I will also do melodrama. I think that I'll go with melodrama first where I can involve a lot of children and get them started in something fun. Melodrama is ideal for schools, churches and community theaters which need large cast plays with comedy.

Down below, I have some wonderful websites to explore. These websites are fantastic for the novice director or experienced theater director. They are excellent resources for starting a theater or simply finding perfect books and products to help out. I know I'll have fun. You too! It's always a great feeling to get kids involved in theatre.
